As one of the large integrated telecom companies, China Telecom is the largest data center service provider in China with the largest number, the widest distribution and the largest scale of data centers, with more than 500,000 racks, and the data centers consume 20% of the company’s total power consumption. As an important platform for the company’s external empowerment, data centers also carry the core hub function of the mobile network and undertake core tasks such as data storage, processing and transmission, and their green development is of great significance to the realisation of the company’s goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.

China Telecom actively promotes the green construction of data centers, actively adopts green energy-saving technologies, and reduces the energy consumption of data centers. At present, China Telecom has built 28 national green data centers. 

China Telecom released a new generation of intelligent data center (AIDC) infrastructure technology solution, promoting the transformation and upgrading of data centers to AIDC, and actively creating a new generation of data centers that support the “two bombs and one optimal” (energy elasticity, refrigeration elasticity, air flow optimization) air-liquid hybrid refrigeration mode, while achieving the average power of a single cabinet 2Kwe-50kW + elastic adaptation capability. Flexible to meet the requirements of large-scale centralised deployment of general computing, intelligent computing, and supercomputing. 

China Telecom self-developed AI energy-saving system, precision refrigeration energy-saving cabin and other new data center energy-saving technologies, and widely used in data centers. China Telecom relies on large model base self-developed AI energy-saving system, widely deployed in data centers and other facilities. Through real-time monitoring of equipment operation and environmental information, the AI energy saving system intelligently turns off and starts local idle equipment, and intelligently adjusts the wind speed frequency of the entire data center refrigeration system, saving 800 MWh electricity annually. China Telecom self-developed precision refrigeration energy-saving cabin can be loaded into the mainstream equipment of different manufacturers on demand, the structure allows local adjustment, solve the hot problem of double-sided cooling equipment, and can reduce PUE to below 1.2.
