Integrating Mobile into Health
1st July 2014, Da Vinci Hotel, Sandton, South Africa
On 1st July next the GSMA is bringing the mHealth industry together for a workshop entitled “Integrating Mobile into Health”. This workshop aims to present consumer and community health worker primary research recently completed in South Africa and link the insights gained to the product and technology framework, monitoring and evaluation framework, and long term sustainable business case for mHealth.
As many of you already know the GSMA mHealth programme launched the Pan-African mHealth Initiative (PAMI) in South Africa in April 2013, with the support of the UK Government. PAMI aims to support the scale-up of mHealth services, focused on maternal, newborn and child health, to meet the needs of the National Department of Health in South Africa. The principal activities of PAMI South Africa are primary market research, partnership development and business case development.
This workshop aims to share and discuss our programme findings. The topics include insights and implications for participants on:
- Reaching the end consumer
- Driving interoperability in implementation
- Quantifying benefits of mHealth in maternal, newborn and child health
- Transitioning towards a sustainable business case for mHealth services
- Partnering with mobile operators
We will be:
- Endeavouring to understand the needs and mHealth opportunities for pregnant women, mothers and community healthcare workers
- Presenting practical applications of product, technology and M&E frameworks to drive interoperability
- Looking at long term business case opportunities and the creation of scale
- Discussing the importance of public private partnerships
