FICO: Standardising fraud prevention APIs

FICO calls on mobile operators to enable fraud prevention APIs that protect consumers and strengthen trust in digital finance.

About enterprise API demands

Evolving financial crime demands real-time collaboration between banks and mobile network operators. FICO, working with Jersey Telecom (JT) and GSMA Fusion, is advancing the global rollout of fraud prevention APIs that connect telecom data with financial intelligence. Delivered through the FICO® Platform, the Scam Signal API analyses live telephony patterns to detect impersonation calls and block fraudulent payments before completion. This approach has already reduced scam losses by more than 40% for UK banks. Fraud prevention APIs, such as Scam Signal, SIM Swap, and Number Verification, give financial institutions the network insight they need to act instantly and protect customers. Through GSMA Fusion, FICO and JT are engaging mobile operators worldwide to align on common API standards, ensuring scalable, interoperable defences against APP fraud and restoring consumer trust in digital transactions.
