Dr. Cheng Leong Lim

Development Scientist, IIoT & Connectivity Section Manager, ARTC

Dr. Lim is the Development Scientist and IIoT & Connectivity Section Manager at Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC). He is currently driving 5G and beyond R&D initiatives with global MNCs, public agencies, and SMEs, such as the 5G Smart Factory Initiative, offering ARTC’s industrial members with best practices in deploying advanced 5G connectivity and wirelessly enhanced services to accelerate technologies innovation in the manufacturing environment.

Lim received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Glasgow, U.K., in 2019. His expertise and interests are in network context-awareness topics for 5G-enabled manufacturing networks, Fuzzy modeling, optimizing communication reliability of wireless sensor networks, and artificial intelligence for Industry 4.0.

Terence Wong

Market Development Director, Head of APAC 5G Industry & IoT Community, APAC, GSMA

Terence serves as the Market Development Director at APAC Technology team in GSMA. The key focus is on 5G, IoT, eSIM. He establishes the APAC IoT partnership programme and the APAC 5G Industry Community that accelerates the 5G and IoT ecosystem development and innovation in the APAC region. The IoT partnership programme accumulates 60+ MNOs, 500+ innovators and ecosystem members in 20+ APAC countries, jointly drive the digital transformation in various sector including manufacturing, transportation, logistics & port, healthcare, smarty city, agriculture and environment protection etc.

Worked for IT/Telco industry for over twenty years, Terence has strong and broad experiences in telecom industries on infrastructure, product development and management, consultancy, sales and marketing. He has worked for multinational companies such as Fujitsu, Nokia, and served as the architect, consultant, product lead and pre-sales head of BSS/OSS in the Asia region.

Terence has Bachelor of Engineering (Electronic Engineering) in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Master of Business Administration (Information Technology Management) in Hong Kong Polytechnics University, previously certified as Project Management Professional (Project Management Institute).

David Mohally

Business Innovation Lab Leader (SPO Lab), Huawei

David has over 25 years experience in the Telecommunications sector working with many of the leading IT and Telco vendors including Huawei, IBM, Lucent and Ericsson. Currently working as Business Innovation lab leader focused on Business Research (SPO Lab) within Huawei, he is tasked with looking at how the Telco industry will evolve in the coming years. He is working closely with leading international business schools to develop methodologies for exploring future Telco opportunities and business models.

David has rich project practice experience in the innovation field of Telcos and vertical industries, and has successfully cooperated with Tier1 in Western Europe and the Middle East on vertical industries and digital transformation. He has extensive experience across product management, business model design, use case design, solution design, and customer experience management.

David Khoo

Deputy Director for Communications and Connectivity, Business & Ecosystems, Business Technology Group, IMDA

David Khoo is the Deputy Director for Communications and Connectivity, Business & Ecosystems, Business Technology Group at IMDA. He has over 25 years of experience in the ICT sector from Systems Integration, Solution Innovation to Business Consulting. His work experience spans across MNCs like Accenture, Unisys, Mavenir and Ookla. He holds a bachelor’s degree with honours, in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Queen’s University of Belfast, UK.

Dr. Fatih Ulupinar

Principal Engineer, Qualcomm

Dr. Fatih Ulupinar completed his Ph.D. at the University of Southern California. Since then he has worked at Bilkent University in Turkey, at ACSC in Los Angeles and Siemens Corporate Research in Princeton. Recently, Dr Ulupinar has been working at Qualcomm, Research. At Qualcomm, he has worked on the design and implementation of many of the Wireless WAN systems: EvDO, UMB, 4G LTE and 5G NR. Recently Dr. Ulupinar is working on 5G Private Networks, Industrial IOT and TSN. Dr. Ulupinar holds more than 160 patents mostly in wireless communication space.

Liu Yu

Director, Strategy & Marketing Center, Siasun Group

Liu Yu is the Director of Strategy & Marketing Center, Siasun Group, the Chief Representative of Asia Pacific Bangkok Center, and Assistant CEO of SUN & SIASUN Robot ( Thailand) Co., Ltd.

Strategic marketing and business growth are essentially Mr. Liu’s areas of marketing competence. His expertise extends to robotic automation system planning advice and international collaboration investment strategy. Mr. Liu oversaw the SIASUN group’s overseas capital investments from 2017 to 2019 and participated in the conclusion of a number of investment projects.

Mr. Liu was in charge of developing and carrying out the company’s international strategy beginning in 2019. Through his efforts, SIASUN developed two local organizations through strategic collaboration and in-depth financial cooperation, which is the frontier of the Chinese robotic automation industry development model in Southeast Asia, commencing with Thailand as the front hold.

A local technical and engineering platform was also created under his initiative by Siasun with the technological transfer of China’s cutting edge technology know-how to Thailand. Together with China’s mature and leading robotic and automation supply chain, this platform built an eco-system for robotic technology innovation and sharing, supporting Thailand’s industry 4.0 digital transformation.

Mark Koh

5G Business Planning and Partnerships Director, Singtel, Singtel

Mark is responsible for Singtel 5G enterprise product management including 5G connectivity, campus networks, and multi-access edge compute. He has been working with customers to adopt new applications and services enabled by 5G and MEC across different industries including industry 4.0.

Prior to joining Singtel he has spent time helping customers deploy mobile networks around the world and providing consulting for organisations on their digital transformation.

Sebastian Tan

SVP, Head of Enterprise Communications (5G) , ST Engineering

He is the Senior Vice President, Head of Enterprise Communications (5G) at ST Engineering. With 20 years of experience in the Telco and ICT industry, Sebastian leads the 5G businesses, to accelerate the development of next-generation 5G solutions and to establish a robust ecosystem for enterprise clients through partnerships with leading industry players.
