On Monday 3 March 2025, as part of the 4YFN Fintech Summit, we hosted the The Platform Economy sessions with partners; bolttech, BBVA, Chenosis, Citi, GCash and Okoora. 

We discussed: 

  • API Ecosystem: How APIs create new fintech ecosystems where banks, fintech startups, and developers collaborate to build complementary services? What are the user cases? 
  • API-Driven Financial Services: How do Fintech companies leverage APIs to offer tailored solutions i.e. credit scoring, investment management etc.
  • Embedded Finance: How APIs integrate key financial services into everyday apps, making financial services more accessible? 
  • APIs for Security: What is the best practice of APIs in protecting sensitive information and financial data?  
  • Monetisation and Business Models: How do Fintech companies build sustainable revenue models around API-as-a-service offerings? 
  • The Future: How APIs are enabling AI and Blockchain in fintech?
