This document analyses the risks posed by the advancement of quantum computing on IoT systems, focusing on solutions that are connected using 3GPP based connectivity, in both terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks, in the first instance. It aims to provide stakeholders and decision makers with an understanding of the challenges and actionable insights, to enable an informed strategy for securing IoT solutions against emerging quantum risks and future proofing strategies.
The quantum threat should be considered within a broader landscape of cyber security threats, with the implication that existing vulnerabilities will not by default be addressed through the implementation of quantum safe solutions.
