The Rich Communication Services (RCS) Universal Profile 3.1 has now been published. This specification defines the service experience and user experience for the features that are part of RCS. The major step forward covered by this latest version is that it includes the requirements and experience for improving the connectivity of the RCS client to the service provider’s network through the use of push notifications and introduces a framework to support improved codes for audio messaging that could be extended to other media capabilities in future versions.
Next to that, this new version brings further details on the use of deep links to initiate a conversation, clarifications further improving the File Transfer security and improvements to RCS’s Spam Reporting functionality.
