This year, mobile authentication and mobile identity APIs took centre stage at MWC, with multiple mentions in keynotes, specialist sessions and announcements, not to mention our successful GSMA Identity and Data Seminar: “Humanising digital identity: how the mobile industry boosts digital trust”.

Drawing from the discussions at GSMA seminar on mobile authentication, mobile intelligence and progress in European Digital Identity, as well as the industry momentum of Open Gateway, featured MWC speakers will offer their most memorable mobile identity takeaways from MWC24.

Speakers:

Andrzej Ochocki

Head of Identity Management, Chair GSMA EIG, Deutsche Telekom AG

Andrzej leads the Digital Identity activities in Deutsche Telekom Group, which includes design, build and operation of the Identity cloudified common production infrastructure and software, DT’s Group Identity products and services development for 3rd Parties as well as related support of the national companies.

Andrzej serves also as a Chairman of the GSMA European Identity Group and is actively engaged in Industry collaboration and positioning Telco’s assets for trusted Identity ecosystems, incl. emerging ones like the EU ID.

He started at Deutsche Telekom Group in 1996 and has served in various engineering and leadership roles, both in Technology as well as in Business areas. Through his many assignments, Andrzej brings strong leadership and key experiences in to deliver at scale advanced Identity and Network APIs technologies as well as innovative products and services with speed and agility.

Andrzej has a MBA degree from the University of Minnesota as well as MSc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich. He lives in Bonn Germany, is married and has two sons.

Paul McGuire

CEO, IDlayr

Paul is a serial entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in mobile. He is currently co-founder and CEO of IDlayr, a cybersecurity startup that is using core mobile network technology to build the internet’s missing identity layer. He was previously a co-founder and Board member of mobile payments business Boku after his company, Paymo, Inc. was acquired by Boku in 2009. Boku floated on the UK AIM market in 2017. Prior to Paymo, Paul was co-founder and COO of mBlox, one of the pioneers of mobile messaging, building a global business active in over 50 countries. mBlox was acquired by Sinch in 2016. Paul previously worked with management consultants Booz, Allen & Hamilton. He has an MBA from INSEAD in France, and an Engineering degree from Cambridge University. He lives in London.

Glyn Povah

Head of Global Product Development, Digital Identity, Telefónica

Glyn leads global product development at Telefónica for the Digital Identity business, where he founded a new product category focused on building and growing an Identity & Attributes B2B API business. Under Glyn’s leadership this customer centric growth business has developed new API products, in collaboration with other leading global Telcos, that address core digital identity use-cases in the market and now serves hundreds of relying parties on a global basis.

Glyn has over 20 years of experience in Telecoms in B2C and B2B product development, product marketing and commercial development, with over 8 years of experience in Digital Identity, Cybersecurity and the API economy. He is a recognised leader and frequent speaker on these topics at conferences and events globally.

Glyn is passionate about not developing technology purely for technology’s sake but for using it to solve large scale, real-world problems that can transform industries and society by working together and co-creating with customers and partners.

Helene Vigue

Identity and Data Director, GSMA

Helene Vigue is Identity and Data Director at the GSMA. Since 2014 she has assisted mobile operators worldwide with their mobile identity initiatives. Her purpose is to connect the mobile identity ecosystem and facilitate collaboration. Before joining the GSMA, Helene held multiple technology and business roles at Orange. This included mobile handset launches, global strategy and digital services delivery.
