Spotlight on the Wholesale Agreements and Solutions Group

As a GSMA WAS #17 delegate you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in four days of thought leadership, inspiring keynotes, and industry updates, alongside opportunities to network, exhibit, and meet with your roaming partners.

Would you let a robot operate on you? Discover what’s new for 5G roaming and network slicing. Hear experiences from operators that have deployed 5G and their learnings so far and what this means for the development of roaming agreement templates that address industry needs. Plus, learn more about the challenges of security versus current roaming practices and other topics related to fraud in the industry, such as robocalling and combatting the illegal use of global titles.

Also on the agenda, how to build the foundations of your 5G and IoT businesses with new roaming charging models and how the GSMA is addressing the growing digital voice divide. A dedicated session on the quality of service will centre around the question, “Can we mandate roaming SLAs?”. Discover the GSMA guidelines that advise on optimising the return on investment of improved quality measures, and subsequent impact on customer interaction. Hear about the ways in which operators are leveraging 5G and quantifying quality.

GSMA WAS #17 will also introduce Open APIs in the 5G Era, an initiative to examine the role of a federated global operator platform in creating a cloud network of Open API gateways. With the support of 20+ mobile network operators, the initiative will lead to a drastically simplified application development process for developer communities, while revolutionising market value for mobile operators. The initial focus has been on eight common, CAMARA-compliant APIs that simply expose mobile operators’ network capabilities within a consistent, interoperable and federated framework. You will hear from organisations taking part in the initiative and learn how you can get involved.

Lastly, a competition will be run at the event that invites start-up organisations to present their innovative solutions to the GSMA WAS audience. These include leveraging the SIM for secure authentication, a roaming auditing tool, a platform for live AR calls, and more. Winners will be calculated by combining an audience vote and the result of a technical assessment conducted by the GSMA.
