DarkMatter announces strategic partnership with Microsoft Gulf to deliver best-in-class cyber security to the UAE and GCC public sector

Partnership will provide the combined expertise to help governments deliver secure smart city, smart government platforms and protect critical national infrastructure

Abu Dhabi and Dubai, United Arab Emirates

DarkMatter, an international cyber security firm headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, today announced a partnership agreement with Microsoft Gulf (NASDAQ: MSFT) to deliver advanced cyber security solutions to public sector clients in the UAE and wider Gulf region.

By bringing together the high-level capabilities of DarkMatter and Microsoft Gulf, this agreement delivers a unique, high-end cyber security offering. Clients will benefit from DarkMatter’s ability to deliver state-of-the-art, end-to-end digital defence capabilities across heterogeneous environments and technologies, as well as from Microsoft Gulf’s unparalleled expertise in software and cyber security architecture and solutions.

The agreement addresses the entire cyber security project life-cycle, including design, implementation, audit, assessment and review.

Today, countries in the Gulf face a growing number of increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. This requires a clear, proactive response from national authorities, given the strategic importance of the region to the world’s energy supply, but also because ambitious smart city initiatives and expanded eGovernment and mGovernment services are being pursued in earnest across the region and require protection.

Commenting on the agreement, which represents Microsoft Gulf’s first partnership in the Gulf region focused on cyber security solutions and workloads, Rabih Dabboussi, Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development, for DarkMatter, said, “Together with Microsoft Gulf, we are providing a solution that aligns with the UAE’s vision to adopt cutting-edge digital infrastructure, smart city and smart government programmes that create an enabling environment for the knowledge economy to thrive. Absolutely essential to this is security across all government networks and platforms.”

Rabih Dabboussi added, “Our deepening partnership with Microsoft Gulf means that as we collaborate on deployments, assessments and audits, we’re building solutions for government that proactively protect, monitor and quickly react to any security threat. From deployments to audits, our collaboration represents the ‘gold standard’ for cyber security in the Microsoft Gulf ecosystem.”

Through this partnership DarkMatter and Microsoft Gulf will help public sector clients address security in a more agile manner, thereby letting them focus on providing the highest possible levels of service. As the partnership develops, the two companies will look to expand their offerings to other industries and sectors.

“Empowerment begins with inclusion, and Microsoft Gulf continuously strives to drive inclusion and empowerment for its customers and people in order to enable them to have access to great technology that makes things happen.” said Mohamed Mikou, Regional Head of Services, Microsoft Gulf. “Cybersecurity is engineered into Microsoft products and services from the initial design stage – Microsoft was the first cloud provider to meet Data protection requirements of the European Union as well ISO standards. This reflects our commitment to providing our customers with secure, compliant and innovative technologies. We are excited to be working closely together with DarkMatter, to enable the government spur innovation while limiting exposure to potential threats, ultimately allowing them to achieve more.”
