HKT launches Tap & Go

  • Auto top-up at most one time per day with pre-set choices of HK$500, HK$1,000, HK$3,000, HK$5,000 HK$8,000 or HK$10,000. Auto top-up can be switched off anytime by customers.
  • On-demand top-up at any amount in multiples of HK$50, from HK$500 up to HK$10,000.
  • 2, Cash top-up is available at all HKT, csl and 1010 shops, and will soon extend to all 7-Eleven convenience stores. Customers can top up any amount in multiples of HK$50 between HK$100 and HK$3,000. Furthermore, customers can make online purchases with amounts up to HK$10,000. Instant money transfers (i.e. peer-to-peer money transfer) between individual Tap & Go accounts are also available via the smartphone app. Using the “PayBuddy” function, customers can send or receive money by tapping their smartphones, or even remotely via phone-to-phone connection. Both sender and recipient will receive a confirmation message once the transaction has been completed.   Customers can also review their past three months’ transaction history anytime, anywhere via the Tap & Go app for tracking and control purposes.   The transactions are currently settled in Hong Kong dollars, and foreign currency transactions will be enabled in due course.   Tap & Go will also bring customers endless dining and shopping privileges. In addition, customers may participate in MasterCard Traveler Rewards program and earn HKT The Club loyalty program’s bonus points for each payment transaction.   To apply for Tap & Go, csl or 1010 customers can simply download the Tap & Go app (first available at Android Play Store, and later on Apple App Store) and fill in the necessary information required to securely process the application.
