MTS Russia and SK Telecom Launch LTE Roaming Services

Moscow, Russian Federation – Mobile TeleSystems OJSC (“MTS” – NYSE: MBT), the leading telecommunications group in Russia and the CIS, and SK
Telecom, the leading telecommunications provider in the Republic of Korea,
announce launch of 4G roaming services to MTS’s subscribers in the
Republic of Korea starting November 20, 2013.

MTS customers travelling with LTE handsets supporting 850MHz and 1800MHz
ranges can roam and use data services on the SK Telecom’s high-speed LTE
networks.

MTS aims to provide its customers with high-speed and high-quality data
services in Russia and abroad.

Currently MTS provides 4G services in a number of Russia’s regions,
including Moscow and the Moscow region, the Tambov region, the Pskov
region, Udmurtia, the Kaluga region, Khabarovsk Krai, the Kirov region,
the Amur region etc. Till the end of 2014 company plans to expand its LTE
coverage to more than 600 population centers across Russia.
