GSMA Financial Services Community Meeting #1
Join us on Thursday, 22 October 2020 from 13:00 (BST) for the first GSMA Financial Services Community Meeting #1, in cooperation with Europol, designed to address key fraud and security challenges.
In this meeting we will explore:
- Latest threat intelligence and sim swap case studies from Europol
- Insights from case studies on deployments of the SIM Swap API as part of a layered defence to account takeover threats
- Enhancing collaboration on issues impacting the global Financial Services vertical and ways to accelerate solutions as a community

Financial Services Vertical Lead, GSMA
Brian is responsible for the commercial proposition development of identity solutions at GSMA. His career includes product and proposition development in both the Financial Services vertical at UK retail banks Barclays, Lloyds and RBS, as well as Telecomms, heading up the Digital Product team, Commerce, at Telefonica UK.
CISSP, Head of Industry Security, GSMA
Jon France is the Head of Industry Security at the GSMA, where he leads the Fraud and Security function. A technology and security expert in world heading rapidly towards 5G, where reliance on digital tech has risen exponentially, Jon’s focus is on ensuring network resiliency and integrity in support of mobile operators, consumers and other stakeholders throughout the mobile industry.
Jon has 20+ years’ experience in Enterprise IT & Security within media and telecoms. Jon has also delivered cloud enablement strategies; built online product portfolios; lead development teams; run global IT portfolios and headed up incident/ crisis management teams.
Group Head of Product, Mobile Identity, LUCA, Telefónica
Glyn is Global Product Director at Luca,Telefonica’s division specifically focused on creating propositions from insights. Working with the UK banks he helped create the initial sim swap product which is now part of Telefonica’s core offering across its global markets.
Head of Security, GSMA
James Moran is Head of Security at GSMA where he supports and directs the security work of its Fraud and Security Group.
James studied law and started his professional career in the financial services sector where he participated in a range of international fora and initiatives. James has worked in fraud and security management positions in the mobile telecommunications industry since 1996.
James has collaborated with law enforcement agencies, governments, regulators, network operators and suppliers on a wide range of initiatives to protect mobile networks and their users. He has been centrally involved in developing responses to a wide range of challenges including device theft, interconnect security, security certification and vulnerability disclosure. His contributions have been acknowledged by governments and law enforcement agencies around the world.

NatWest has 20m customers in UK and Northern Ireland. Chris is responsible for the delivery of successful fraud prevention strategies and tools, across mobile and web for business, corporate and personal customers.
