Dan Schieler Has Joined Fibocom Joint Venture Company Rolling Wireless as CEO

Shenzhen China – August 4th, 2020 – Fibocom (Stock Code: 300638), a leading global provider of IoT (Internet of Things) wireless solution and wireless communication modules, today announced that Dan Schieler has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer of Rolling Wireless Technology Co., Limited, a joint venture company invested by Fibocom and other three professional investment institutions.

His deep experience in managing multi-nation, multi-function teams and sales driving excellence while managing business transformation will be a significant asset for Rolling Wireless,” said Fibocom’s Board Chair Peter Zhang. “The automotive industry is a key IoT market that no serious module vendor can ignore. Fibocom has acquired the automotive embedded module product line from Sierra Wireless through Rolling Wireless as Dan assumes the position of CEO. I believe Dan’s joining will greatly enhance our presence in the global automotive embedded module market.

Mr. Schieler joins Rolling Wireless from Sierra Wireless, where he spent more than 15 years as Senior Vice President of different business units, leading worldwide teams of totally over 1000 people consisting of R&D, Product Management and Sales/Technical support, having managed revenues of totally over a billion dollars, and making key decisions on the evaluation of organic investments in the business as well as growing the business through strategic acquisitions. From 2005 to 2010, he successfully integrated the Sierra Wireless and Wavecom sales and engineering support teams resulting in a more efficient and profitable worldwide organization. Before Joining Rolling Wireless from 2018 to present, Mr. Schieler is the Senior Vice President and GM of Sierra Wireless OEM Automotive.

Rolling Wireless Technology Co., Limited is a joint venture company invested by Fibocom and three investment institutions, namely SHENZHEN CAPITAL GROUP CO., LTD., Shenzhen Jianxin Huaxun Equity Fund Management Co., and Shenzhen Qianhai Red Earth M&A Fund Partnership (Limited Partnership).  The invested funds will be used for the acquisition of the automotive embedded module assets of Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ: SWIR) (TSX: SW) through Rolling Wireless (H.K) Limited, the subsidiary of Rolling Wireless Technology Co., Limited. After the acquisition, the joint venture company Rolling Wireless (H.K.) Limited will operate the global automotive embedded module business independently.
