Join us for MIT’s “Mobilizing Entrepreneurship” Launch and Networking Event

One November 29th, the Mobile and Development Intelligence team is hosting a networking reception and launch of the latest edition of MIT’s quarterly Innovations journal. This edition of the journal, ‘Mobilizing Entrepreneurship,’ is focused entirely on how mobile technology is being leveraged in emerging markets and contributing to international development goals.

As well as receiving copies of the journal, attendees will hear from three of the edition’s contributing authors:

  • Chris Locke is Managing Director of the GSMA Mobile for Development department. Chris has spent the past 15 years working in the mobile and internet industries, for companies such as the Virgin Group, Three, AOL, and T-Mobile.  He will be speaking about his lead essay, “The Challenge of Sustaining App Entrepreneurs.”
  • Raj Gollamudi is Director of Investments at the philanthropic investment firm Omidyar Network, where he oversees mobile technology investments in emerging markets. He invests in technology platforms that can bring the power of mobile technology to underserved populations and make a significant impact in areas including education, health, agriculture, and information.
  • Maja Andjelkovic is a doctoral student at the Oxford Internet Institute. Maja previously was a project officer with the International Institute for Sustainable Development.  She will be speaking about the World Bank article she co-authored, “Mobile Entrepreneurship and Employment.”

The event will be held at GSMA’s London office and speakers will start at 7:30pm. Please feel free to join us from 6:30pm onwards for beverages, snacks and networking. Space is limited so register soon.
