This study, carried out by GSMA Mobile for Development Utilities and Etisalat, explores the opportunity for mobile network operators to partner with service providers in the deployment of pay-as-you-go (PAYG) solar solutions, to improve energy access in Pakistan. The findings show that, while the market for off-grid solar solutions is nascent in Pakistan, the dynamic mobile market and bold energy service providers are moving the market forward, exploring the potential for mobile technology to support the deployment of PAYG solar solutions at scale.
