Financial Inclusion Week 2022: Reducing the gender gap

Mobile money has connected millions of users to the formal financial system, providing a significant pathway to financial inclusion across developing economies – especially for women. However, a gender gap still persists in mobile ownership and mobile money usage. Even in countries with seemingly equal levels of account ownership between men and women, such as Ghana, key differences emerge, highlighted in data from our Global Adoption and Consumer Surveys and the latest Findex report.

This presentation will showcase findings from our research across 10 low- and middle-income countries on mobile money gender gaps. Join us to learn how mobile money and digital financial service providers can increase women’s usage of mobile money services and improve women’s financial inclusion in the process.
