Responsibilities of GSMA-appointed certification bodies include:
- Certification activities
- Approving licensed laboratories for the scheme (according to the scheme’s defined criteria)
- Alignment, ensuring a common approach to evaluations performed under the scheme
A GSMA eSA Certification Body must gain and maintain ISO17065 accreditation. Moreover, it has to include the GSMA eUICC Security Assurance within its scope of ISO17065 accredited certification activities. Also, the Certification Body is required to identify necessary updates to the GSMA eSA documentation, to align with ISO17065 expectations.
