“We are delighted to have a partnership with the GSMA Connected Women Commitment Initiative, which will be a major contributor to facilitating women’s access to the internet and mobile money services by enabling them to enter the digital economy and benefit from the opportunities it offers in terms of education, employment and digital and financial inclusion.

This commitment is reflected in the launch of training programs designed to enhance women’s digital skills, particularly in the digital field, and to raise their awareness of the benefits of mobile and financial services (MFS).

Our aim is to design products and services that are inclusive and accessible to women, considering their time, financial and cultural constraints.

TOGOCOM, the global operator with the widest coverage and leader in mobile telecommunication and mobile money in Togo, is committed to playing a leading role in promoting the digital and financial inclusion of women.”

Dagan Connectée

In March 2024, on the eve of International Women’s Day, Togocom launched a new initiative to improve women’s digital skills, called ‘Dagan Connectée’. Dagan means ‘Elder Sister’ in mina (one of Togo’s popular language).

The programme ‘Dagan Connectée’ has been initiated in partnership with TIDD, a pan-African organisation based in Togo focusing on technology, innovation and sustainable development. The aim of the programme is to empower women’s digital skills by training them to successfully integrate digital solutions into their business activities, in order to increase their revenues.

The pilot phase started in March for one year, will target micro-entrepreneurs’ women in Lomé age between 18 and 45 years old.
