Connected Women Life Stories: Video Series

Without access to mobile services, millions of women are being left behind. Mobile can help to empower women, providing them with access to life-enhancing services, often for the first time.

We asked women from across Africa and Asia to share their stories through their mobile phones. In these short videos, we hear how mobile internet or mobile money has transformed the lives of these women – in their businesses, studies or family life, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

1. Driving digital inclusion

In the first video of the series, we focus on how mobile internet is improving the lives of women across Africa and Asia. From farmers to shop owners, and mothers to students, women from around the world share their stories through their mobile phones.

2. Stories from Africa

In the second video, women from Kenya, Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania and DRC use their mobile phones to record their stories about how mobile internet or mobile money has helped them in their work or family life.

3. Driving financial inclusion

In the third video of the Connected Women Life Stories series, we hear how mobile money is transforming the lives of women across Africa and Asia. Women share their stories through their mobile phones. explaining how mobile money has enabled them to keep their businesses going during the pandemic, or support their families by sending money home.

4. Stories from Asia

In the fourth video, women from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka use their mobile phones to record their stories about how mobile internet or mobile money has helped them in their work, studies or family life.
