The latest version of the GSMA Mobile Money API provides 8 distinct use case views which provide API provider and API consumer perspectives for the common mobile money use cases supported by the API Specification.  This allows the ecosystem to easily implement the relevant APIs for their products and reach more users and increase financial inclusion. The GSMA has researched the ways in which an enhanced API ecosystem built through the use of harmonised Mobile Money APIs for these use cases can provide key benefits to the ecosystem and underserved users and thereby act as an enabler for the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Enabling the mobile money ecosystem through open APIs enables a wide range of products and services to be expanded to the over one billion people who use mobile money, increasing financial inclusion of underserved populations.
