International EMF Exposure Guidelines

Resource thumbnail

The International Commission for Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) is an independent expert scientific commission that provides scientific advice and guidance on the health and environmental effects of non-ionizing radiation (NIR) to protect people and the environment. It works with the World Health Organization (WHO) and other government agencies. In March 2020, ICNIRP produced updated guidelines that ensure the protection of people against all established health hazards when they are exposed to radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF) in the range of 100 kHz to 300 GHz.

This document explains the key features of the updated international guidelines, with a  focus on the elements that are most relevant for exposure from mobile communications network equipment and devices operating in the frequency range 400 MHz to 300 GHz.
