In 2024, mobile technologies and services generated 5.6% of Asia Pacific’s GDP, contributing $950 billion in economic value. The mobile industry’s economic contribution will grow to $1.4 trillion by 2030, equivalent to 6.6% of GDP, driven by the continued expansion of 5G, AI and other digital technologies.

Asia Pacific has a diverse connectivity landscape and is home to some of the world’s most advanced 5G markets, as well as countries just beginning their rollout. 5G is projected to account for 50% of the region’s mobile connections by 2030, and is already nearing mass-market levels in Australia, Japan, Singapore and South Korea.
