Mobile internet users with disabilities navigate mobile services differently. Empowering individuals with disabilities to understand how to correctly set up and use accessibility features integrated within smartphones is pivotal. This proficiency allows them to tailor their mobile experience to suit their individual needs, unlocking the full potential of mobile internet as a transformative assistive technology.
By the end of this module, your trainees will:
- Understand the benefits that mobile can bring to the lives of people with disabilities.
- Know how to change and correct colours; change fonts and display size, increase the contrast and reduce white light in a variety of apps.
- Know how to use the magnification function and be familiar with using it in WhatsApp.
- Be able to use TalkBack and feel confident to use it on websites, social media and messaging apps.
- Know how to use sound enhancement and sound amplification to increase volume and clarity.
- Know how to turn on captions and live transcriptions
