The panel session entitled: Building Successful Partnerships: The Role of Mobile Operators in mHealth will take place on Tuesday 4 December 5:00-6:15pm.

Moderated by Dr. Craig Friderichs, Director of Health at GSMA, this session will provide an overview of successful mobile operator propositions and how mobile and health can jointly achieve long term investment into healthcare. There are over 800 mobile health products and services around the globe, and increasingly mobile operators are taking a leading role in these solutions. Examples of successful partnership models will be discussed in an interactive panel session.

Panellists:

Dr Craig Friderichs, Director of Health, Mobile for Development, GSMA

Craig heads up a dynamic team that is responsible for working with more than 1000 GSMA mobile operator and broader mobile ecosystem companies to integrate commercially scaled and sustainable mobile solutions into the health system. Craig has been instrumental in launching mHealth services in Bihar, India and initiating the Pan African mHealth Initiative, a collaborative effort between mobile operators and the public/private sector to catalyse the launch of scaled mHealth services.

 

Eleanor Chye, Executive Director – Mobility Product, mHealth & Pharma, AT&T

Eleanor Chye leads AT&T’s product team to conceptualise and bring to market a suite of enterprise offerings in the mobility healthcare and pharmaceutical space.  Her mHealth and Pharma product team develops solutions that draw on best-of-breed mobile connectivities, applications and wireless devices to improve healthcare outcomes and reduce the costs of care.

 

Carlos Martinez, Head of Strategy and Innovation, Telefonica Digital

Carlos Martinez has been the head of Telefónica Digital’s eHealth Global Business Unit since the unit was created. With over 13 years of experience in Telefónica, until the end of 2010 he was in charge of ICT projects and services for Enterprise and Public Administration customers. Prior to that, Mr. Martínez worked as a consultant in mobile network projects.

 

Li-Qun, Chief Scientist, China Mobile Research Institute

Li-Qun became a Chief Scientist of China Mobile Research Institute (CMRI) in May 2010. He leads primarily the R&D activities of CMCC’s in mHealth Applications and Services, responsible for setting the viable business strategy, establishing core research competence in related technologies, and building an open, scalable and intelligent platform for delivering end-to-end mHealth services.

 

Benjamin Sarda, Director of Product Marketing, Orange Healthcare

Orange Healthcare aims to develop e-health activities in France and internationally leveraging the France Telecom-Orange Group’s expertise in Information and Communication Technologies. Mr Sarda was previously Chief of Staff for Thierry Zylberberg, Executive Vice President of Orange Healthcare.
